It is our pleasure to invite you to the opening of BETWEEN ROOT AND STONE the new solo exhibition by Nick Ervinck and to the introduction of Mihael Milunović in the HF Room, on Friday 30 October from 6 pm - 8 pm, in the presence of both artists.
For the occasion, the gallery takes on a quiet, contemplative atmosphere, inspired by the East.
In this exhibition, Ervinck brings together two long-held fascinations: the centuries-old tradition of bonsai and the enigmatic Chinese Gongshi, or scholar’s stones. A bonsai is shaped by years of human attention, pruning and control. A Gongshi is formed by time, erosion and chance. For Ervinck, they are two extremes of the same question: where does nature end, and where does human construction begin?
New ceramic sculptures and drawings come together in a speculative landscape.
ON VIEW IN THE HF ROOM: MIHAEL MILUNOVIĆ
