Through Our Lens opened at Tyger this afternoon – and what a lovely, busy, generous opening it was.

It was wonderful to have the gallery full of incredibly talented student photographers, and their families, friends and supporters, celebrating this beautiful exhibition of work by Yass High School students.

And it really does look great in the gallery.

The exhibition has been organised by Folkal and Headspace Yass, and brings together student photography exploring identity, relationships, creativity, and what matters to young people in Yass today.

We love being able to make room for projects like this – for young people’s ideas, images and creative voices to be taken seriously, and for the gallery to become a place where the community can come together around them.

Through Our Lens is only on this weekend, so please come in and see it if you can.

This weekend at Tyger, we’re very pleased to be hosting Through Our Lens – a photography exhibition by students from Yass High School.

The exhibition has been organised by Folkal and Headspace Yass, and brings together student work exploring identity, relationships, creativity, and what matters to young people in Yass today.

We love being able to make room in the gallery for projects like this. Encouraging young people to see their ideas, images and creative voices taken seriously matters – and we’d love you to come along and support them.

There’ll be an opening tomorrow afternoon with juice, soda and snacks, and everyone is welcome.

We get it. You see something you love at a gallery but don’t buy it. Maybe the timing wasn’t quite right, or you weren’t sure where it would fit, or you thought you didn’t have space for it.

Then you get home and wonder why you worried about the timing, realise it would look beautiful on your walls, and discover that space was not, in fact, the problem.

And since you saw it, you can’t stop thinking about it.

We’ve shuffled the walls, brought out more beautiful work, consumed a staggering amount of coffee and croissants, and we are READY.

We’ve had the most brilliant few days talking art, meeting lovely Melburnians, hanging out in a stunningly beautiful building, and watching works head off to new homes.

GOOD MORNING MELBOURNE!! 🐯🧡🐯

We’ve shuffled the walls again, found new homes for some beautiful works, topped up the stand with more amazing art – and we are OPEN for day three of Affordable Art Fair Melbourne!

Sally, Sara and Martyn have been joined on the stand today by the one and only Ben Randall, who has come down from Sydney to help us talk art, meet lovely Melbourne people and generally add a little extra Saturday glamour to proceedings.

The stand is looking particularly gorgeous this morning – although we may be biased – and there is SO much wonderful work here to discover. If you’ve been thinking about coming along, today would be an excellent day to do it.

Affordable Art Fair Melbourne is open until 5pm today at the Royal Exhibition Building.

GOOD MORNING, MELBOURNE! 🐯

Day two of Affordable Art Fair Melbourne is underway – and after a little overnight shuffle, the Tyger stand is looking rather lovely, even if we do say so ourselves. 😍

One of the great things about an art fair is that the walls never stay quite the same. Works find new homes, others move into their place, and suddenly you notice something you somehow hadn’t properly seen the day before.

We’ve got so much amazing art here – from big, glorious statement pieces to two whole walls of original works for $1,000 or less – and we’re enormously proud of the artists we’ve brought to Melbourne.

The doors are open, the very excellent Melbourne coffee has been consumed, and Sally, Sara, Sarah and Martyn are ready for another day of talking about art with lovely people.

Come and find Tyger Gallery at the Royal Exhibition Building – we’re here all weekend.

MELBOURNE – WE’RE OPEN! 🐯🧡

After months of planning, packing, wrapping, labelling, spreadsheeting, driving and occasionally wondering what on earth we’d got ourselves into… the Tyger Gallery stand at Affordable Art Fair Melbourne is officially open.

And look at it! 😍

SO. MUCH. BEAUTIFUL 😍

We’re ridiculously proud of this stand – and even prouder of the brilliant artists whose work has travelled from all over the country to fill it.

If you’re coming to the fair over the next four days, please come and find us, say hello, have a wander through and spend some time with the work. Sally, Sara, Sarah and Martyn are here today and would LOVE to see you.

Affordable Art Fair Melbourne opens this week, and we’re very excited to share the full collection of works Tyger Gallery is taking to the Royal Exhibition Building.

We’re bringing outstanding work from artists whose work we love – paintings, still lifes, landscapes, works on paper, collage, colour, texture, quiet moments, loud moments, and a very large amount of heart.
