School Holidays Activities in our Museum 📜🎖

Our Wondai Museum has a range of activities for the young ones to participate in these school holidays!

To add some fun into learning, we have a Detective Hunt, Dog Hunt and an interactive Discovery Dock for a more hands on experience.

The Wondai Museum is open 9am-4pm Monday to Thursday and is located at 80 Mackenzie Street Wondai. We would love to see you there!

We recently had a visit from two gents from Ireland, Gerard and Kevin. They dropped in to learn what we knew about Dr Joseph Ernest O’Sullivan who was the medical practitioner in Wondai in the early 1920’s.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have any records regarding him. Gerard told us that Dr O’Sullivan was his grandfather and his father Michael was born in Wondai. Gerard brought with him and donated to us some family photos, a copy of his grandfather’s obituary and his father’s birth certificate. We shared information and are extremely grateful to Gerard and Kevin for filling in some of Wondai’s history we had no record of.

They were then headed for Collinsville, to visit the grave of Dr O’Sullivan.

New Discovery Dock

Forget the automatic washing machine and computer…come and experience parts of life from one hundred years ago.

Our museum has created a new interactive children's area which will open as of Saturday the 8th of August at our Open Day. This is an amazing way for kids to learn our history and to have some fun.

Don't forget we also have our Detective Hunts and Great Canine Hunt!

Are you looking for some fun activities for the kids or grandkids for the holidays but also want to help them learn?

Come into our Wondai Heritage Museum these school holidays!

Located at 80 Mackenzie Street Wondai, we have available a dog hunt and a detective hunt as well that helps the kids explore the many buildings of the museum while having some fun.

The Wondai Museum is open 9am-4pm Monday to Thursday. We would love to see you there!

Newest Addition to the Museum

The Wondai Men's Shed have restored an old metal sign of the History of Wondai which has now been erected in front of the Wondai Heritage Museum.

According to southburnett.com.au, it is believed the sign was originally located in Coronation Park around 1988, the time of the Bicentennial.

Come over to our Museum in Mackenzie Street, Wondai to have a look around and see the sign in person!

Stall Holders Wanted!

On Saturday the 8th of August 2026, the Wondai Heritage Museum is having an open day. We are looking for stall holders for the event with their own up to date insurance and food business licence if applicable. There is no site fee and set up will be from 7:30am.

School Holiday Activities 📜🏆

Looking for some extra fun these holidays? Do you need something to keep the kids or grandkids occupied?

The Wondai Heritage Museum have two fun activities that are perfect for kids of all ages.

We have our Junior Detective Hunt for the young ones to find items spread across our museum as well as our new Canine Hunt where they have to find little wooden dogs throughout our buildings.

This is a great way for the kids to not only have some fun but also learn a lot of new things.

We are located at 80 MacKenzie Street Wondai so come on in! Our new opening hours are 9am-4pm Monday to Thursday.
