This year thanks to the support of generous sponsors our art prize pool for winners has also increased to $22,500!

✈️ 🎨A PIONEERING SPIRIT

The Outback Regional Gallery is proud to present the Flying Arts Alliance's Mervyn Moriarty Landscape Touring Exhibition which opened on Saturday evening.

The exhibition is a category within the annual Flying Arts Alliance's Queensland Regional Arts Award in honour of founder Mervyn Moriarty OAM featuring the diversity of place by 13 finalist artists across Queensland.

Special thanks to community, guests and visitors who travelled to attend the event on the weekend including Alex Grady Exhibitions and Program Manager of Flying Arts Alliance, Leanne McIntyre Manager Regional Arts Funding, Artist Kim Tabulo and friends.

Visitors to the exhibition can learn more about the late Mervyn Moriarty OAM (1937 -2021) and his dream legacy to equalise arts opportunity and decrease isolation to those living remote through publication 'From Riverbanks to Shearing Sheds: 30 Years of Flying Arts' by Marilyn England.

Exhibition will continue until 22 November

Wintons Diamantina Heritage Truck and Machinery Museum is not to be missed! The extensive collection showcases Australia's road transport history, with many different vehicles on display.

The museum volunteers carefully maintain the collection and take great pride in preserving and sharing this important history.

As an added bonus, you can see the original 1972 International C-1300 "Never Never Safari Tours" truck driven by Mick Dundee in the film 𝘊𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘋𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘦. It won't be there forever, so don't miss it!
