Lest we Forget.

111 years ago, at first light on the 25 April 1915, Australian and New Zealand troops landed at ANZAC Cove in Gallipoli, facing their first major battle of World War I. They fought with endurance, courage, ingenuity, good humour, and mateship – what we’ve come to know as the ANZAC Spirit.

On ANZAC Day, we honour their legacy and that of all who have followed in their footsteps.

They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.

Lest We Forget.

ANZAC Day can also be a challenging time for Veterans and their families. Support is available.

For those needing urgent assistance, help is available via Open Arms on 1800 011 046 (24 hrs) and Lifeline on 13 11 14 (24 hrs).

This wonderful plaque was unveiled by Mr Michael Polley at our 20th birthday celebrations in November. The plaque celebrates the opening of the Museum on 11 February 2005. Mr Polley officially opened the Museum so we were thrilled he could attend and unveil the plaque. Thank you to The Hub in Sheffield for their generous donation towards the cost of the plaque. Check it out in the foyer next time you are in the Museum.
