I encourage everyone to visit the Glen Museum, particularly the special exhibition curated for Ironfest weekend. The large bonfire planned at The Foundation's venue suggests it will be a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to seeing your costumes, as my grandson and I are already prepared.

Facebook Post – Signs of Yesteryear Exhibit – Nov 2025

Ron Bidwell and the Wallnuts, a group of traditional signwriters, created and maintain the vintage advertising signs that are found on the walls of buildings throughout Portland. The signs dating from 1895 to 1960, depict common, everyday products found in Australian homes from that period.
Visit the museum to experience our new exhibit focusing on the Signs of Yesteryear.
Discover the origin of everyday products such as Arnott’s, Milo and Sunlight Soap. Learn about the history of Australia brands such as Stamina clothing and Federal Safety matches.

A visit to The Glen Museum's outdoor exhibit reveals an intriguing comparison between the unassuming, everyday cart of the average family and the more refined, spring-equipped carriage of the financially better-off, inviting reflection on the vastly different lifestyles and experiences of these two groups.

The Glen Museum is open 11am - 3pm today and tomorrow, come and see part of this amazing collection that is on display at the museum there is always a volunteer on duty to answer your questions to the best of their ability. I would like to thank all the amazing people who come and open up every weekend, they give their time freely sometimes doing two or three shifts per month. There is a great community spirit here in Portland NSW, new volunteers would be most welcome.
