Art by Kathy Kathy is an Australian Artist in based in Melbourne. Her practice is mainly in abstract and contemporary art. She has exhibited in many Art Shows since 1992.

Katherine Chouliaras Lewis, is an Australian Artist born in Melbourne and residing in Rosanna, Victoria. Her love for drawing and painting began at an early age along with her fascination for archaeology, science, flora and fauna. Her inspiration is nature and colour. She enjoys experime

nting with different art mediums, styles, surfaces and techniques and her years of experience in painting and drawing is seen in her artworks which vary in:
• Styles: abstract, contemporary, landscape, seascape, traditional, fauna and flora.
• Subject matter: fauna and flora; portraits; landscapes; seascapes and free form abstracts.
• Mediums: acrylics, oils, pastels, watercolour, scratch board, pencil and mixed media. Katherine was ‘Artist in Residence’ at the ‘Mungga Studio’, from April 11-18, 2021 at the ‘Ivanhoe Library & Cultural Hub’. During her successful residency, she painted, exhibited and conducted 2 workshops for children and adults in ‘Pull String Art’ technique. She will continue with her Residency in 2022 at Banyule City Council and also with Banyule Open Studios. Katherine has been exhibiting her artworks since 1992 at many Art Shows: Victorian Artists' Society; Heidelberg Artists' Society; Contemporary Artists’ Society; Melbourne International Flower & Garden Shows; 'Urban Crafter', Brunswick St, Fitzroy and 'Riot Art' Northland Shopping Centre, Preston; Argyle on the Park, Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast, Queensland; Camberwell Rotary Show; Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar; Alphington Grammar; Loyola College; Parade College and Banyule Art 'Winter Exhibition' Austin Hospital, Heidelberg. Her signature artworks are her abstracts/contemporary art. Her contemporary artwork 'Autumn Spirit' was selected for nomination for the 'Undine Autumn Landscape Award' by the Victorian Artists' Society in East Melbourne (12/04/2016). Katherine is a member of various Artists' Societies: since 1995, the Victorian Artists' Society and Banyule Pinpoint; since 2015, the Heidelberg Artists’ Society; Contemporary Artists' Society; Victorian Pastel Artists' Society; Wildlife Artists' Society Australia and since 2021, the Diamond Valley Artists’ Society. Her other passions are photography and travelling and she uses many of her photos for reference and inspiration. She accepts commissions and also works from photographs. You can view her artworks on:

As part of the 'Chillin’ In Banyule' program, the event will feature a live performance by talented musician Toby Aitken from 1:00pm to 3:30pm, creating a vibrant atmosphere for attendees and community members alike.

The Heidelberg Artists Society is a volunteer-run organisation that showcases the diverse talents of local artists. This event offers a fantastic opportunity for the community to engage with local art and support our creative talents through a variety of artworks and interactive experiences suitable for all ages.

The trick to painting eggs:
1. Boil on low heat the eggs first.
2. Mix the dye in a cup of boiling water.
3. Add the dye to the boiled eggs.
4. Slowly stir the eggs and dye with a wooden spoon.
5. Let the eggs sit in the dye for 10 mins.
6. Add 1 cup white vinega to allow the dye to fix on the eggs.
7. Using silicone tongs remove each egg and place on a double sheet of Chux wipes..
8. Pour olive oil on a rag or chux wipe in your palm.
9. Cover the egg with the oil.
10. Place each oiled egg back into the carton to dry and cool.
Remember to wear disposable gloves for the dye process and oiling of the eggs.
Perfectly coloured eggs!!
