I feel like I’ve come full circle atm. Back in Bali where I was inspired 22 years ago to venture into the arts world that became Shardworks - Mosaic Design Studio. The Balinese people were the main inspiration. Their effusive attitude of affection to strangers and beauty. Their laughter and easy going inquisitiveness towards life in general. They taught me so much and still do. They are the best ambassadors of good tourism. They can teach us a lot. Just saying...

It's been a long time since I posted anything. The break has been essential in recharging my batteries and the dawn of a new chapter in the Shardworks story. I won't be posting a lot but I will do it occasionally. If anyone wants to contact me please do it by email [email protected]
I have closed the Cairns studio down and relocated to the peaceful surrounds of Koah up on the tablelands. The new studio is practically complete and I will be resuming classes soon for those that are interested. In the meantime here's an interesting story about some of my favourite products.

Sometimes projects take a long time. This is one of those projects. I started it a year ago up on Moa Island in the Torres Straits in the community of St.Pauls. It is the rare “Wyniss” a bright green goanna only found here and on PNG. It has been a pleasure working with the locals here and watching them enjoy making mosaics. This one will be the entry badge on a wall of the new health centre.
