Kingaroy Heritage Museum Open Day!! ππ
The Kingaroy Heritage Museum held their second, and now annual, Open Day on Saturday the 21st of March.
Our volunteers worked hard organising the event which turned out to be a great success. There was a great turn out of locals and visitors coming in to see the Museum, Information Centre and Art Gallery and to shop at the stalls behind the centre. We even had a lovely visit from Deb Frecklington MP, Mayor Kathy Duff, Councillor Potter and Councillor Little.
The volunteers kept busy talking to all of our visitors about the history of the area and items in our museum. They had free peanut money boxes and stickers for everyone and also had a fun guessing game of peanuts in a bag. Our lucky adult winner who guessed the exact number, was given a lovely hamper supplied by the information centre and the two children who tied won a large koala toy each. The kids also had fun taking part in the peanut hunt and scavenger hunt.
Our stalls included Barambah Beekeepers, Fiery Fish Farm, Light Up Your World Candle Creations, QCWA, Playing with Glass, Taabinga Lions Sausage Sizzle and Amyβs Ice Cream & Coffee.
Everyone had a great time at the Open Day!! Thank you for all who could come and see the wonderful museum and thank you to all the volunteers who put in so much time and effort organising the event.
If you unfortunately missed the event, we hope to see you all next year!
