🎨✨ A Wonderful Night of Art, Creativity & Community ✨🎨

What a wonderful evening we had at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery for the opening of our August exhibitions!

Our August artists were warmly supported by a fantastic crowd, with Mayor Kathy Duff joining us and officially opening the exhibitions with the traditional cutting of the tape. βœ‚οΈ

🎨 Don Milner spoke about the inspiration behind his paintings, giving guests an insight into the stories, places and people that influence his work.

πŸ–ŒοΈ Cherry Carroll shared the story behind the Life Studies project in Gallery Two, including the inspiration for her own exhibition in Gallery Three and the journey that brought the project to life.

🎁 We were also thrilled to have a lucky door prize, with Cherry generously donating one of her own paintings for the occasion. Congratulations to our lucky winner, and a very special thank you to Cherry for such a generous contribution.

🎢 And then there was a little unexpected magic...

One of the Life Studies models, Micha, picked up his guitar and serenaded our guests with his incredible musical talent. What a wonderful surprise and a beautiful addition to the evening!

A big thank you to Mayor Kathy Duff, Don, Cherry, Micha, our artists, guests and everyone who came along to support the gallery. Nights like this are what make our gallery such a special part of our community. ❀️

If you couldn't join us for the opening, there's still plenty of time to visit and experience the August exhibitions for yourself.

COMING THIS AUGUST! DON MILNER

We are delighted to welcome Australian artist and painter Don Milner to Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery this August, with a special exhibition in Gallery One.

Based on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, Don works across acrylic, oil, pastel, charcoal and drawing, creating original artworks in both impressionist and representational styles.

From sweeping seascapes and landscapes to cityscapes, portraits and still life, Don's work reflects his passion for storytelling and his fascination with the world around him.

πŸ–ŒοΈ "I am primarily a Visual Communicator and Story Teller and I celebrate my 'Freedom of Expression' through my art." – Don Milner

A graduate of the Queensland College of Art, Don has enjoyed a diverse creative career spanning graphic design, illustration, commercial art and fine art. Since 2000, he has dedicated his practice to painting and drawing, while continuing to share his knowledge through art classes and workshops.

Many of you may also recognise Don as the judge of the David Bryce Award 2026 and the artist who recently led our Life Studies Workshop.

✨ Come and experience Don's unique artistic vision this August.

COMING THIS AUGUST | TWO EXHIBITIONS BY CHERRY CARROLL 🎨

This August, Cherry Carroll's creative vision takes centre stage at Regional Art Gallery, with two exhibitions showcasing creativity, artistic exploration and the results of a year-long project.

πŸ–ŒοΈ GALLERY TWO – LIFE STUDIES

Gallery Two will feature artwork created by participants in a series of Life Studies workshops organised by local artist Cherry Carroll and tutored by Queensland artist Don Milner.

The project was more than a year in the making, with Cherry dedicating considerable time and effort to bringing the workshops to the community. With the support of a successful Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grant, the workshops were made more accessible to participants who may not otherwise have been able to attend.

The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery was proud to act as the auspice for Cherry's RADF grant application.

The resulting exhibition brings together artwork created during the three workshops, offering a fascinating insight into the different ways participants responded to the human form.

🎨 GALLERY THREE – CHERRY CARROLL

Alongside the Life Studies exhibition, Cherry will present an exhibition of her own artwork in Gallery Three, offering visitors the opportunity to experience her personal creative practice.

Together, these two exhibitions celebrate Cherry's passion for art and her commitment to creating opportunities for others to explore, learn and develop their artistic skills.

✨ Come and explore both exhibitions this August and discover the creativity that has grown from this inspiring project.
