Another new display thanks to a donation from Mike Broso. Large variety of Chemist bottles. We have placed them next to the scales that many Junee locals would have used when they were located at the Chemists before home scales were common.

Just starting to clean over about 40 bottles kindly donated by Mike Broso. Many of the bottles date back well before Mikes time and we thank him for his donation. They will soon be on display.

The next new display at The Museum will be in our old reception area, would have been the Ladies Lounge. This area will become our music room. We plan to bring together all our pianos and organs as well as our many instruments from various bands.

After many hours planning and even more days cleaning moving and setting up our new reception / entry is now open. Our front door has moved and you now enter into the original bar area. This new room has our roundhouse and Bethungra spiral model as well as a variety of Railway items.
You will also find our friendly team of volunteers ready to help.
If you haven’t visited for a while now is the time.

📰 HAPPENING TODAY | 30 years after last stepping in to save the store next door, the Junee Co-op is doing it again! ❤️🙌 The Co-op will officially take ownership of Broadway Builders Supplies this afternoon to secure the future of the staple hardware business following the retirement of its long-time owners.

After almost six decades behind the counter, the handover marks the end of an era for Peter and Margaret Pickles, who have called time on an extraordinary chapter in the town’s history.

Arguably one of Junee’s most recognisable husband-and-wife teams, the couple — now aged 95 and 90 — have operated Broadway Builders Supplies since 1967.

They leave behind a legacy defined not just by longevity, but by their deep connection to the town and the generations of local families they served.

The changeover also marks a major expansion for the Co-op, bringing Broadway Builders Supplies under the same umbrella as IGA Junee and building on its century-long record of keeping key local services in community hands.

Broadway Builders Supplies will close its doors this afternoon for several weeks as a major reset begins behind the scenes, before reopening next month.

As part of the transition, recruitment has already begun, with the Co-op seeking customer service team members to support the operation when it reopens.
