🌾 Wicker lovers, wiggle this way!
Our workshops are plaiting their way toward a total sell‑out, so if you’ve been toying with the idea, now’s the moment to twist, tuck, and book your spot.

The 1:30pm session is full, but we still have a few precious places left in the 9:30am and 11:30am sittings — perfect for early‑bird basket‑makers and mid‑morning makers alike.

Come bend, braid, and bask in the joy of creating something beautiful with your own two hands. Once these last spots are snapped up, that’s it — no more strands left to spare.

It’s National Volunteer Week — the perfect time to join our wonderful team!

A few of our regular Sunday “meet‑and‑greeters” are heading north for winter (and who could blame them), which means we’re looking for a few extra friendly faces to help us welcome visitors over the next few months.

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering but weren’t sure where to start, this is a lovely, easy way to dip your toes in.

Sunday door duty is simple:
open (or close) the doors, put signs in or out, greet visitors, take entry payment, hand out maps, share your favourite spots, point people in the right direction and have a chat!

Shifts are usually three hours, you’ll get a full induction and a buddy until you're ready to go solo, and you'll score a morning or afternoon tea as the tearoom is open on Sundays! You can volunteer as little as one shift a month. It’s just for winter — unless you fall in love with it.

If you’d like to know more, pop in for a chat or call the museum on 0408 409 842. We’d love to welcome you.

FREE ENTRY — May 18!
International Museum Day is almost here, and we’re throwing the doors wide open from 11am.

If you’ve been meaning to visit, this is the perfect moment. Explore the buildings, wander the two acres of history, and step inside the stories that helped shape Jindera.

International Museum Day began in 1977 to celebrate museums as places of learning, culture and connection — and we’re proud to be part of that global community.

Pop it in your calendar and come say hello.
Free entry for all… with donations warmly welcomed.

Can you help us over winter? Several of our regular meet and greet volunteers (those who man the door and welcome the masses) plan to go north for the winter (who'd blame them!) but that means we are a few people short for a few short months.
Have you been thinking about volunteering some hours but haven't found the right thing yet? We'd love to see you. We pride ourselves on being open seven days a week, and that is due to the generosity of folk who donate their time.
Manning the door is not an onerous task and the shifts are generally three hours, including 'opening up' or 'closing up'. You get a full induction and a buddy until you are ready to go solo. Your job - open the doors, greet the people who come to visit us (drag them in if they are hesitating 🤣) take their money, give them a map, have a chat if you like, let them know what they can expect to see, point in various directions, tell them your favourite bits and then have a little rest before the next guests arrive.
How many hours you contribute per week is totally up to you! It can be as little as three hours. And it's only for three months (although if you like it you can stay on). If you'd like to know more give the museum a call on 0408 409 842 or pop in and talk to one of our brilliant meeter and greeters and ask them what it's all about!

MARK YOUR DIARY — May 18!
International Museum Day is nearly here, and we’re celebrating the best way we know how… by opening the doors to everyone with FREE ENTRY.

If you’ve been thinking about visiting the Jindera Pioneer Museum, now’s your chance. We’ll be open from 10am, the grounds will be peaceful, and it’s the perfect opportunity to wander, explore, and rediscover the stories that shaped our region.

International Museum Day was created back in 1977 to shine a light on the role museums play in education, culture and community life. For us, it’s a reminder of why we do what we do — preserving history, sharing stories, and welcoming people of all ages into this little village of memories.

Come along, bring a friend, and enjoy a day on us.

What does International Museum Day mean for us? FREE ENTRY, that's what. On May 18 we'll celebrate by 'opening the doors' to all, with free entry (but donations welcome!!!)

International Museum Day (IMD) was established in 1977 by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to raise awareness about the role of museums in society and promote cultural exchange, education, and peaceful coexistence among communities and nations. The first celebration took place in Moscow, and since then, the event has grown to include tens of thousands of museums across more than 150 countries.

The day emphasizes that museums are vital spaces for learning, cultural enrichment, and dialogue. They preserve history, safeguard artifacts, and provide educational opportunities for all ages.
MARK YOUR DIARY! We'll be open from 10am to welcome you all.
