Welcome to Arts Gloucester.

You may well recall a fun filled night of reminiscences, trivia and tributes held in late 2024 to celebrate Gloucester Arts and Cultural Council’s 25 wonderful years and to recognise all those who had contributed to the creative life of Gloucester.

To ensure that the organisation remains vibrant and successful for another 25 years, a workshop was held in early 2025 at which members and supporters were invited to assess our strengths and weaknesses and contribute ideas about our future direction.

Soundings were also taken to ascertain how well we were known and understood within the wider community. This revealed a significant gap in awareness of GACCI and uncertainty about both our identity and our purpose.

The Committee therefore decided to recommend that our name be changed to one that is modern, better descriptive of who we are and more appealing to our broader community. This was discussed and agreed by members and supporters who attended the Annual General Meeting last December.

Henceforth we will be known as Arts Gloucester.

This will be our trading name which will appear on the logo, website and other promotional and informational material. The legal entity remains unchanged – Gloucester Arts and Cultural Council Inc.

Alongside our name change, we will be actively communicating our purpose and programme so that everyone in our area has an opportunity to participate.

Our new identity will be formally launched at a function to be held in the Gloucester Gallery on Sunday 29 March 2026. Please reserve the date. An invitation will follow.
