I come from a family of makers. My paternal Grandmother was a painter. My maternal Grandmother was accomplished in the domestic arts of sewing, knitting, flower arranging and much more. My mother and sister are jewellers. My brother is one of Queensland’s most recognised ornamental blacksmiths..
None of us are highly trained. We just get on with it - making mistakes and experimenting until something works.
Lately I have introduced stitch into my paintings. It is deeply satisfying.
