Chainsaw Lager has landed
Born on Bruny Island and brewed by bruny NORTH, Chainsaw Lager is a light, non-alcoholic lager that pairs perfectly with food. Ultra-light on the front palate, it rolls into a smooth body with a crisp, balanced hoppy finish. Clean, refreshing, and highly drinkable, it’s a proper lager, without the alcohol

This beer started as an art project

In 2025, bruny NORTH launched an exhibition titled Chainsaw Lager, showcasing a rare collection of beer cans from local legend Justin “Chainsaw” Jones, affectionately known as the “Mayor of North Bruny.” The name came first, then the merchandise, and eventually the beer itself, completing the journey from concept to can.

The can design tells its own story:
Fairy Penguin, a symbol of Bruny Island
Amber drop, “just a drop,” Chainsaw’s grandfather’s saying
Blue typography, Chainsaw’s signature colour
Gunmetal grey, the bruny NORTH identity

Each Easter, the story continues. bruny NORTH hosts the annual Chainsaw Lager Beer Can Exhibition, the event that inspired it all, alongside a growing non-alcoholic beer festival celebrating creativity, community, and mindful drinking on Bruny.

Chainsaw Lager: The Exhibition is now on at bruny NORTH.

Named after local breweriana collector Justin “Chainsaw” Jones, the exhibition explores the cultural history of rare and unique beer collectables.

Last year, we created merchandise to accompany the show, and this year, Chainsaw Lager is finally in the can and now available in a takeaway four pack. It’s a light, refreshing non-alcoholic lager, best served ice cold.

Also, if you ordered a t-shirt in a smaller size, they’ve just arrived, drop by and pick yours up. 🍺🤎🤩
