Step into the world of graphite drawing in this relaxed 4 hour, beginner friendly workshop, focused on creating a detailed rural scene.

Experienced artist Peta Turner will guide you through a range of 6 different graphic pencil techniques that will help you create this artwork... arming you with the skills to to create your own sketches.

From shading and using a chisel point tip to drawing fine lines, you’ll learn how to bring a simple sketch to life with confidence.

This workshop is suitable for beginners who want to learn to draw realistic pencil scenes, while also offering valuable skill building for those wanting to strengthen their drawing foundation. With clear, step-by-step instruction, you’ll be supported throughout the process in a calm and encouraging environment.

By the end of the session, you’ll have completed your own finished drawing and developed a stronger understanding of how to use graphite effectively.

This course will introduce you to the five main skills sets that form the foundation of metalsmithing:

Sawing
Filing
Metalworking
Soldering
Finishing

What you will make:
- During the course you will practice on base metals (copper or aluminium).
- you will also make 3 sterling silver stacker rings as part of your soldering practice.
- in the last session you will design and make up to 2 pieces of jewellery from sterling silver – earrings, rings, small pendants or bangles.

Cost: $560 per person (plus booking service fee)
** All materials and tools (including metals) are provided in the workshop fee.

The Churn Room is located in Dayboro, about an hour northwest of Brisbane C*D. Located in the historic Old Dayboro Butter Factory, we're a creative destination with a retail Artisan Store featuring handmade products from Brisbane-based artisans, along with 2 exhibition spaces catering to our rotating group exhibition program, as well as exhibitions from solo and small group artists.

One of the (arguably) most influential contemporary abstract artists makes a great point. And we got to thinking, what if we held an exhibition that blends these two "reals" together?
