About the artist:
Rebecca has lived in Coonamble for over 25 years with her family, raising three kids. She is also a school teacher by day. Rebecca says she likes to create special things through a variety of different mediums such as sewing, patchwork, painting, performance, and of course her jewellery. Earrings are such a statement piece and Rebecca loves to experiment with colour.

ROSANNE STANDFIELD - GULARGAMBONE //
Price Range: $35.00 - $100.00

About the artist:
Rosanne had never been west of Dubbo until the late 1980s when employment took her to Bourke. While at Bourke, Rosanne met her husband and together they moved further west to the Wanaaring district in the early 2000s. In 2018 they purchased a property near Gulargambone in the Coonamble Shire. In the Gulargambone garden was paperbark trees and one had died. Rosanne decided to make use of the bark from the dead tree and turn it into something beautiful. She enjoys taking photos, sewing, making hats from raffia and woodwork.

Shanae is a Wailwan artist, and High School student, born and living on Country in Coonamble. Her designs and concepts come from her imagination. She also loves to draw natural designs.
Shanae began exploring her creativity and artwork by sketching whenever she had a chance. When she was sketching she started to notice more of her surroundings and has progressed from there

About the artist:
Sonia is the eldest of four Children, born in Wiradjuri Country, the land of the three rivers, Dubbo NSW. Her Mob is from Kooma, South West Queensland near the Cunnamulla area. She now lives at Lightning Ridge NSW. She has made jewellery since early childhood with a flair for the unusual, however life gets in the way of her passions. Over the years I have been working in construction, being fortunate enough to complete a Carpentry Apprenticeship. Since this time she has been able to put down the carpentry tools and pick up my Jeweller’s tools. She loves to work with sterling silver and semi-precious stones, adding colour and dimension to my pieces. She is proud to have created a collection of jewellery bringing my Ancestor’s storytelling symbols into a modern light with non-traditional wearable art. Most of this collection is named in Wiradjuri Language, helping everyone understand and appreciate our Culture.

SOOTY WELSH - COONAMBLE //

About the artist:
Sooty is a Wayilwan Elder and ceramic artist, who makes hand-crafted pots and functional pieces, richly glazed and marked with unique markings. These are the designs that are inspired by the ancient Wayilwan markings that have been found carved on the trees and into the land in the region. Sooty returned to his hometown of Coonamble after living most of his life in Sydney. Deeply committed to community and cultural strength, Uncle Sooty believes in the creative potential of his people and is passionate about inspiring others through workshops and guest appearances.
Sooty is always happy to take up his other creative pursuits to keep himself inspired. When he has had enough of ceramics, he may turn to photography, which he loves, or even to traditional artifact making. The important thing to him is that he maintains his creativity, for his story, for his understanding, and for his health.

SUSAN WALKER - COONAMBLE //

About the artist:
A Coonamble local, Susan retired after over 30 years of teaching, to care for her husband who then passed away. While coming to terms with her loss, Susan has drawn close to the animals living around her and come to know the local birds. Getting to know their calls and songs; like little mates, they come and go making their presence felt. Susan says painting again is the real prize.

Tammy Baker is a Gamilaroi mother and a nanny, living in Coonamble, with strong family connections to Walgett. At her day job, she works for the Department of Education, supporting families in her community.
Her connection to family and spirit heavily inspires her artwork. Tammy takes a meditative approach to her arts practice and takes time to enjoy the process of creating.
