Bundaberg Regional Galleries encompass both Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery and Childers Arts Space. Bundaberg Regional Galleries encompasses two galleries.

Bundaberg Regional Galleries is a cultural services facility of Bundaberg Regional Council. Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) is a large multi-purpose visual arts facility located in the heart of Bundaberg City, and is within walking distance to major shopping centres, cafes and restaurants and the Riverside Parklands. Located in the main street of Childers is Childers Arts Space (CHARTS), which shares the gallery space with the Palace Backpackers Memorial. Both galleries showcase exhibitions drawn from local, state, national and international artists, and include a gift shop, artist-in-residence apartment (at BRAG), and workshop areas.

A Slower Pace, John Leyland, currently on display in HERE+NOW 2026 at the Childers Arts Space.

I’m sure there are still some older regional towns in Australia where window shopping outpaces the thrill of the online market, and you can still ride your horse into town for a new saddle fitting.
Or maybe it’s just wishful thinking.
I created this piece mainly relying on memories of travels between Queensland and South Australia.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the HERE + NOW 2026 Art Walk and Curator Talk. It was wonderful to connect with so many local artists and arts lovers.

A huge thank you to Demi Conrad for sharing an insightful look into the curatorial process. We hope attendees left with plenty of ideas, inspiration, and valuable knowledge to take into their creative practice.

The Pink Scarf, Gabrielle Winten, currently on display in HERE+NOW 2026 at the Childers Arts Space.

This pastel work explores the beauty of an everyday object, focusing on light, colour and movement. A simple cotton scarf patterned with rich turquoises and plums hangs against an ochre washed wall, its soft folds animated
by a gentle breeze. The layered folds invite the eye to wander through the changing tones and textures.

Join us for a free professional development evening inspired by Catching the Burnett with Matthew Jamieson, Director of the Monto Museum of Art and son of acclaimed Australian Modernist painter Gil Jamieson.

Through storytelling, artmaking and discussion, Matthew will explore the themes of the exhibition, Gil Jamieson's artistic legacy, and the power of place-based art to inspire learning and creative expression in the classroom.

Participants will:

✨ Create their own artwork in response to the exhibition themes
✨ Explore ways to foster creativity, connection to place and student engagement

🚧 Bundaberg Regional Art Gallery Closed for Exhibition Installation 🚧

We're busy transforming our gallery spaces in preparation for an exciting new season of exhibitions.

The Gallery will be closed for exhibition installation and will reopen on Saturday 17 October.

💌 The Postcard Exchange is now open!

Launched as part of Queensland Mental Health Week 2026, this community art project invites people to share messages, memories and positive stories that connect our region.

Featuring original postcard artworks by five young artists, Ayla Payne, Jaide Sutton, Joyce Sun, Liam Thomson and Madeline Havea, the exchange explores themes of wellbeing, connection and place.
