Discover the huge, impressive abstract works of Angus Nivison, then create an abstract painting of your own in this hands-on school holiday workshop at NERAM! 🎨🖌

In this workshop, we’ll be drawing inspiration one of Angus Nivison’s work in particular – The Seasons (2014), which was created while listening to The Four Seasons by Vivaldi, performed by Max Richter.

As part of this workshop, participants will get to paint their own abstract masterpieces while listening to The Four Seasons, just like Nivison, to see what the music and paint inspires within them.

Jeannette Kommer's Mohani Art Workshop is back by popular demand 🎨

After selling out her last session, Jeannette is returning to NERAM to run another exciting Mohani Art session!

In this workshop, you'll create your own artwork on a 30x30cm wooden panel, learning how to build up layers of paint while being introduced to a batik-inspired techniques that create beautiful, surprising effects.

Unfamiliar Territory is a major survey exhibition celebrating five decades of practice by one of Australia’s most respected contemporary painters, Angus Nivison. Bringing together significant works from public and private collections alongside the artist’s own holdings, the exhibition traces the evolution of Nivison’s deeply atmospheric and abstract engagement with the land.

At the end of this year, NERAM is running a 40 Under 40 exhibition where we’ll be showcasing works from emerging artists and artisans from around New England who are under 40 years old, and we're on the hunt for creatives to feature in the exhibition.
