New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM) is home of the famous Howard Hinton and Chandler Coventry Collections of Australian art. The Art Museum boasts six gallery spaces, an artist studio, the Museum of Printing, conference facilities, The Six Counties restaurant and the Museum Shop. The museum's program features exhibitions, art classes and public programs.

UNFAMILIAR TERRITORY CLOSING SUNDAY 🎨

Unfamiliar Territory is a major survey exhibition celebrating five decades of practice by one of Australia’s most respected contemporary painters, Angus Nivison. Bringing together significant works from public and private collections alongside the artist’s own holdings, the exhibition traces the evolution of Nivison’s deeply atmospheric and abstract engagement with the land.

Unfamiliar Territory closes at NERAM at 4pm on Sunday 18th October.

For our followers in Sydney, this show will be travelling to S.H. Ervin Gallery in Millers Point, opening on Saturday 7th November. Be sure to check it out then!

Find NERAM at Creative Streets Festival this year 🤩

We'll be running a community art workshop on opening night where we'll be decorating one of the pergolas in East Mall with flowers and lights to add a splash of colour and joy to the mall. Attendees of all ages can come along to decorate their own flower to add to our community flower garden installation!

We're also co-creating The Hanging Garden: Where We Grow Together in Hanna's Arcade! This installation will be facilitated by NERAM and created by local preschool children 💕 As part of this installation, each preschool will transform hula hoops into colourful floating garden sculptures, creating a canopy of colour and creativity using lightweight and recycled materials. 💐🦋

We can't wait to see you for the Creative Streets Festival opening night on Saturday!

The 19for19 Challenge gives participants the rare experience of walking across some of the New England High Country’s most spectacular properties. This year, walkers will experience the rugged beauty of Warrane Station - a stunning new location for the event.

This free, family-friendly event celebrates the vibrant spirit of Armidale as the weather warms up.

The festival features multiple live music stages, a maker’s market, sumptuous food vans, the ever-popular clothes swap, arts and crafting, workshops and more!

New Horizons: Emerging Voices in Landscape brings together five emerging regional artists whose practices offer fresh and distinctive perspectives on the Australian landscape. Developed through a mentorship program with acclaimed artist Angus Nivison, the exhibition reflects on place, environment and lived experience through diverse approaches to landscape.

New Horizons is showing at NERAM from 2nd October - 8th November.

POP-UP EXHIBITION - CLOSING FRIDAY 🎨

'Telling stories through print' is a pop-up exhibition in the Hinton Gallery at NERAM, showcasing works created by multicultural community members and students at Armidale Secondary College.

These works - known as artist books - were created through workshops aimed at bringing together community members through printmaking and storytelling.

'Telling stories through print' closes on Friday 16th October.
