This is the oldest road registered vehicle in Australia as stated by Service NSW. It is a 1904 Fowler Steam Traction Engine and you can see this great piece of Australia's heritage at the New England Heritage Festival on Saturday and Sunday 9/10th November at Armidale Showground.

Come along as we will have activities for all the family.

This is a 1911 Ruston Proctor Steam Traction Engine, colonial type class with a canopy that you can see at our New England Heritage Festival on Saturday 9th November at Armidale Showground - 9.00am - 4.00pm.

This fantastic piece of Australia's farming history will be included as part of our auction along with many other old items to go under the hammer on Sunday 10th November - 10.00am.

We will have fun activities for all the family, so I hope to see you there.

Admission: $10.00 per person - children under 16 free admission.

FRIENDLY REMINDER

Hope to see everyone at the New England Heritage Festival hosted by the New England Antique Machinery Club NEAMC on Saturday 9th - 9.00am - 4.00pm and Sunday 10th November 2024 - Armidale Showground.

Entry via the main entrance in Duramesq Street ONLY - $10.00 per person and children under 16 free admission.

We will have our famous bush poets Mel & Susie performing in the main pavilion on Saturday at 11.45am and 1.45pm as well as a one off show on Sunday. Come along with the kids for a fun filled show.

We will have a Fergie Tractor pull on at 10.00am

We will have a SES (Search & Rescue) demonstration on at 11.00am where they will be rescuing some people (dummies) caught up in a damaged vehicle. See how the SES perform their life saving rescues by pulling a car apart to save the people inside the vehicle.

We will have 2 very old steam traction engines driving along Dumaresq Street, Armidale at around 11.30am. Come along as you will probably never get to see these steam traction engines together again. One is recognised as the oldest road registered vehicle in Australia.

We will have many other attractions including a blacksmith, leatherworker, CWA - Armidale stall and many other market stalls to keep you and the kids occupied all day.

On Sunday 10th November we will be conducting our auction - 10.00am. I am sure that there will be very interesting items to bid on and you might grab a bargain. One of the steam traction engines will be part of the auction.

Mel and Susie are award winning, true-blue entertainers. Their 2-woman variety show features stand-up comic verse, outrageous yarns, Aussie bush poetry, a bit of singing and a lot of bull. These versatile ink-slinging wordsmiths will tickle your fancy and touch your heart.

Mel and Susie toured Australia for nearly 10 years performing everywhere from campfires to corporate events. They entertained and educated school kids all over the country and delivered adult workshops on writing, performing and memorising bush poetry.

They love festivals and you might have caught them at Tamworth, the Gympie Muster, Stone the Crows or Parkes Elvis Festival; or perhaps at their winter residency (out in Winton, Qld for years) and now in Lightning Ridge, NSW where they perform daily through winter at The Opal Park and run their own Bush Theatre ‘A Hidden Gem’

They will be performing at the New England Heritage Festival - Saturday 9th November (2 shows) and on Sunday 10th November (1 show) - Armidale Showground, Main Pavillion - Times TBC
