The ocean has given me so much over the years, moments of wonder, perspective, and connection. Supporting organisations that help protect and better understand these incredible creatures feels like a natural extension of that.

Every season, the humpback whales return to the Whitsundays, reminding us just how special this place is.

The whales have returned to the Whitsundays, and tonight we celebrate their arrival at the Welcome Whale Event with our beautiful community 🌊

Join the wonderful volunteers for an evening of culture, conservation, connection and family fun featuring:

✨ Smoking ceremony & cultural performances by Yooribaya Cultural Experiences
✨ Reef & conservation displays
✨ Kids activities & cultural art
✨ Food trucks
✨ Free screening of Free W***y 2 under the stars

Whales have always big part of the art that we create at Above & Below Gallery, so this event holds a very special place in our hearts.

** NEW PRINT 🪸

Captured at Heron Island, Nomad’s Rest features a green sea turtle settled quietly on a coral bommie within the shallow reef.

I came across him while moving slowly through the water. No rush, no surrounding fish activity, just a calm pause in an otherwise active reef system. He was completely still, resting into the coral as if the ocean itself had momentarily softened around him.

In black and white, this print is a minimal, contemplative underwater moment that brings a feeling of calm and grounding into your space.

As a print, Nomad’s Rest offers a timeless sense of balance and tranquillity. It's a gentle reminder that even in a vast, moving ocean, there is always room to rest.

Captured while diving at Heron Island on the Great Barrier Reef, Group Therapy is one of those moments that felt both calm and completely surreal.

Out of the blue, this green sea turtle appeared, swimming directly toward me with quiet confidence. As he glided closer, I noticed he wasn’t alone - a lively group of fish friends surrounded him, moving as one as he cruised over a coral bommie glowing in soft yellow tones.

Something is grounding about encounters like this. Unhurried, curious, and completely natural.

The result is a beautifully balanced underwater scene, rich in colour, texture, and life. A print that brings a sense of calm, connection, and reef magic into your space.
