CULTURAL TAPESTRIES Exhibition has launched with a wonderful opening event.

Thank you to all whom attended & added to the creative dynamic hum of the Gallery.

Presented as part of the SENSEational Aireys Festival, this exhibition celebrates the rich cultural, environmental & sensory influences that shape our lives & communities.

Inspired by the festival's focus on connection through culture, food, environment & experience, the exhibition invites us to consider the many threads that bind us together across geography, history & time.

A place where landscape, creativity & community naturally meet. A place where art continues to bring people together: to celebrate culture, storytelling, shared experiences & the beauty of place itself.

Cultural Tapestries is showcased across two Gallery rooms - the Main Gallery & Feature Gallery rooms - & brings together 19 artists working across watercolour, oil, acrylic, graphite, tapestry weaving, ceramics, charcoal, sculpture & mixed media, each contributing their own unique thread to this collective cultural weaving.

Join us for the last day to explore Eddie Warhurst’s SANDHILLS TO SEASCAPES Exhibition 🦅

Oil on canvas &/or masonite, expressionistic & immediately recognisable, Warhurst’s paintings reveal an enduring and highly individual connection to place.

Birds, a recurring motif, animate the compositions, underscoring his instinctive approach to movement, rhythm, and spatial tension.

Together, the exhibition reveals a lifetime shaped by place.

Offering an intimate insight into an artist who has forged a visual language entirely his own, tracing a distinctive journey from the raw, saturated hues of the Mallee to the expansive light & atmosphere of the Aireys Inlet coastline.

Our Main Exhibition room featuring Eddie Warhurst's SANDHILLS TO SEASCAPES Exhibition can be explored in person for the following week.

This exhibition presents a significant and carefully considered insight across three defining phases of Eddie Warhurst's practice.

The earlier works are grounded in the Mallee, where density, heat, and tonal memory establish the foundations of his visual language.

This is followed by a body of Aireys Inlet coastal paintings that open toward light, atmosphere, and spatial expansion.

The two styles are brought into synthesis via the structural density and layered geometry of the Mallee while coastal light & atmosphere are absorbed into a more dynamic & resolved painterly framework in Eddie's most current works.

The collection traces a life shaped by place; an artist consistently returning to & refining his response to environment, with the Mallee remaining a foundational & defining force in the Artists' practice.
