Nissan Sentra Motorsport History & Provenance
Originally built by Nissan Motorsport in Midrand for George Bezuidenhout to compete in the WesBank Series Class C, this Sentra was later driven by Andrew Gossman before returning to Nissan Motorsport for conversion to Class B Touring Car and subsequently Bankfin Class B specification.
The car was campaigned by Nico van Rensburg, Andy Gossman and Kevin Miller of Auto Aircon Exchange, Edenvale, who raced it for many years.
After purchasing the car from Kevin Miller, I had it rebuilt, retaining key period components, including the original touring car suspension, brakes, Koni shocks and limited-slip differential.
The car retains its naturally aspirated race engine, which has not been opened for inspection. A factory Nissan Sentra 2.0-litre turbo engine from a running donor vehicle has also been fitted, with dyno sheets available for the conversion.
Not yet raced since its rebuild, the car currently wears Hillbank-style livery but would ideally suit restoration to its original Nissan Motorsport factory white works colours.
A rare opportunity to own a genuine piece of South African Nissan Motorsport history.
