September 1 called for a little celebration 🥂
Beautiful atmosphere, really good food, generous hospitality and the luxury of actually sitting down long enouhg to talk 💛 't Wit Toreke

And there’s another reason this place feels special to me. 👩‍🎨

On the walls hang paintings I made together with the family through FRAME; a ritual in which memories, stories and gestures are translated into a painting that becomes part of the family place and story.

I love seeing work, out of the studio, living its life. ✨

Happy September! 🍃

Open Studio (Thursday evening) is over, and my heart is full. 🫶

Paintings, open bottles, good conversations, unexpected encounters, and so much laughter around the table.

Thank you to everyone who came by, stayed, looked, shared, and made the studio feel alive.

And thank you Sota Casa | wine & cava for the beautiful wines and warm presence. 🍇🥂

This is what I love: art as a reason to gather, look, speak, and connect. 🌀🩵

At the dam, I kept looking down at the stones scattered across the dry earth. Ochres, mineral greens, rust, dusty pinks, deep browns. Each carrying its own colour, shape and history.

Back in the studio, I began translating those observations into paint. Not painting the stones themselves, but working from their palette, weight and irregular forms — allowing the landscape to reappear through abstraction.

From earth, into pigment, into form.

A first layer.

Return to the painting.

Sometimes the work that stays with you isn’t the one you noticed first.

At Open Studio, I love watching people move between paintings. Looking. Walking away. Coming back. Seeing something differently the second time.

You don’t need to know why a painting holds your attention.

Sometimes returning is enough.
