At one point or another, we have all had our hearts broken at work. Some heartbreaks are harder than others to overcome. Drop us an email at [email protected] with your story. Tell us what happened, what impact did it have on you, how did you overcome it and what did you learn? Think of an artefact that is symbolic of your story, and we'll collect it from you. All submissions are anonymous and all company branding and logos on merchandise will be obscured or concealed. We have a feeling our inbox is about to burst at its seams .

We would like to thank Irene for the extraordinary display of platters that were enjoyed by all last Sunday. Irene has a touching story of her own to tell. We would love to support her in her business, and recommend to reach out to Irene. The event was that much more successful because of her generous contribution. Thank you Irene ♥

Wow, just wow. What an amazing event we experienced this past Sunday at the Museum. A huge thank you to A StrangerKind for using our artifacts and stories as a backdrop to this Sold Out event.

We LOVE strangers ❣. We don't take sweets from them, but we do love hearing their stories. There's something truly special about the honesty you find in a conversation with someone you've just met. They have nothing to lose or gain, so the truth just flows. No judgment, just pure, unadulterated storytelling. And in those fleeting moments of connection, that's where the real magic happens. This Sunday, we are providing this kind of MAGIC!!!! Meet the strangers that may just share the story you NEED to hear ❣

Next week Sunday, the 9th March, The Museum of Broken Hearts is coming to LIFE!

In collaboration with an initiative inspired by ASK (A StrangerKind), we invite you to join us to hear the stories of 12 volunteers, who courageously share the story behind their exhibits. It is an opportunity to listen, to ask and to grow from their journeys. The stories are varied, inspirational, but most of all..... REAL!!!! We need REAL and AUTHENTIC. Please block out your Sunday afternoon next week. Tickets are R50. They can be purchased on Quicket (https://www.quicket.co.za/events/303266-ask-x-museum-of-broken-hearts/ #/) or at the entrance. See you there!

Today we honour a dear friend of the Museum, Neville. He left an indelible mark in our lives. He had a wild sense of humour, the kindest heart and an endless compassion for those suffering. He had a fire in him, that always fought for justice. He was also a raving metal head :-) Neville was one of the very first people to contribute an artifact in the form of a poem to our museum.
Rest in Peace dear friend. We will carry you in our hearts eternally ♥

We've noticed a very unusual phenomenon at the MOBH. Visitors come thinking that they will come only to view exhibits, but what actually happens is that they don't leave, because of the connection that occurs amongst the visitors. We end up talking until the museum closes. It's almost magical. We can't think of any place where meaningful connections are created between absolute strangers. Come at around 3pm, and see for yourselves.

Undoubtedly, the most common New Years' Resolutions are centered around exercising more, losing weight, changing a diet, quitting smoking and are all primarily focused on your body. What are you doing for your soul? Think about writing submitting an artifact of forgiveness or an artifact of gratitude that tell us about a hardship you have overcome. We will be waiting to receive you this Sunday 2pm -5pm , as usual ♥

Stories unite people in their quests to overcome turmoil because everyone can identify with and relate to a story. Often, the only thing that can comfort someone who has lived through great tragedy or tough circumstances is the account of someone else who went through something similar and made it through, wounds and all. When you understand the story you’re part of, and the role you are capable of playing, you can heal the wounds of the past and focus on the challenges and joys of the present. It’s just as important to share your own story as it is to hear the stories of others.
At The Museum of Broken Hearts we believe in the power of storytelling to dismantle barriers, bring healing, and inspire hope for our people. We are here for each other; we are here to share our experiences; we are here to heal. Contact us to find out how to go about sharing your story.
