A temporary Farewell to a Creative Era at Originals Gallery
For 16 remarkable years, Terry and Roelof have been the heart and soul of Originals Gallery, curating not just art, but experiences, conversations, and a sense of community.
Now, a bittersweet chapter unfolds. At the end of July the gallery doors must temporarily close as the building undergoes major renovations.
From the very beginning, Terry and Roelof championed initiatives that celebrated art beyond the gallery walls. Their passionate involvement in the First Friday ArtWalk has brought vibrancy to the towns streets, turning ordinary evenings into extraordinary cultural experiences. Their generosity extended further with their steadfast support of the annual Night of 1000 Drawings, a beloved charity event that unites artists and art enthusiasts in a cause greater than themselves.
Through the years, Originals Gallery has stood as a beacon of inspiration, celebrating originality in all its forms. Roelof’s warm welcome and Terry’s exceptional pieces have made every visit unforgettable. Together, they cultivated relationships that extended beyond transactions, locals became friends, collectors became family, and visitors became part of a shared artistic journey.
Sixteen years is no small feat in the art world, and their legacy is etched in every piece that found a home, every exhibition that sparked conversation, and every memory shared within those walls.
The Originals Gallery story is far from over. Art has a way of finding new canvases, and we look forward to the day when this vibrant space will open its doors again.
During the period Originals Gallery is closed you can find Terrys work in Art Fusion at The Handmill Coffee Shop in Harbour Road.
