I have received a brief from FarmFillms. Is a passion project with not much budget but they are such a great production house and opportunity for artists to work with.
I was hoping you could share the brief with other artists who would like a moment on set with them.

THE PROJECT
FamFilms is casting for a new music video directed by Gee for Kabelo ft. The Arrows — “Everybody Needs Somebody.”
This is a performance-led piece, with the characters carrying the emotional weight of the story. We are looking for actors who can communicate thought, emotion and lived experience through their face, body language and subtle mannerisms, often without dialogue.
This is an opportunity to be part of a beautifully performance-driven music video with a great production company and director.
The shoot is paid, with a minimal music-video rate. There is no usage fee, as this is a music video.
CASTING
THE COUPLE — MALE & FEMALE
Coloured | 35–40
We are casting a couple who have been together long enough to carry a sense of history, tenderness and familiarity.
There is tension and frustration between them, but underneath it all is love — the feeling of two people going through a difficult chapter while still choosing each other.
HUSBAND
Tall, strong and healthy build — almost teddy-bear-like, with a little chubbiness. Slightly awkward in his manner, with a kind and warm face.
We need an actor who can portray frustration, exhaustion and the feeling of running out of hope.
His anger is not aggression towards his wife. It comes from feeling stuck, embarrassed and powerless. This behaviour is out of character for him, and somewhere underneath the frustration he knows she isn't the problem.
We are looking for restraint and vulnerability — an actor who can make us feel that his anger comes from hurt rather than intimidation.
WIFE
Shorter and smaller in build, but fit and strong in stature. Dynamite in a small package.
Feisty but soft.
She knows her husband and understands that his behaviour isn't really about her. She isn't afraid of him, nor does she simply absorb his frustration.
When he crosses the line, she gives him an icy, knowing look — a moment that says, I know what's really going on here, and I won't let you take it out on me.
But her response isn't cruelty. Her firmness is followed by an unexpected act of kindness that reminds us of the love that still exists between them.
THE BOY
Black | 10–12
An awkward, almost nerdy young boy with a sweet face. Average height and slightly too skinny.
We are looking for a young actor with a naturally expressive face and an ability to communicate emotion honestly.
He has been bullied at school, leaving him embarrassed, isolated and emotionally bruised. Despite this, he is determined not to be left behind by the bus.
We need to feel his panic and urgency as he chases after it, desperately picking up his belongings as they fall from his bag.
The performance should feel raw, real and instinctive.
RICK — MALE
White | 60–70
An older, sweet-looking man. Slightly hunched, average height and build.
Rick is a widower. He has clearly been coming to the same bench for a long time, maintaining a small ritual that once belonged to him and his late wife, Edna.
There is something tenderly habitual about the way he moves through the space — carefully cleaning the bench, polishing her plaque, straightening the surroundings and placing small daisies around it.
We are looking for an actor who can communicate an enormous emotional world through very little.
His hands, posture, pace and especially his eyes should tell us what he cannot.
Rick doesn't come to the bench to make a spectacle of his grief. He comes because it is one of the few places where he can still feel close to his wife.
The performance lives in the restraint.
Please note that this is a passion-driven, performance-focused project with a limited budget, but it offers actors the opportunity to work with FamFilms and director Gee on a strong, character-led piece.
