🌿 A new exhibition is taking shape at Cape Palette…

The Botanical Thread: Vortex of Life opens on 31 October and brings together a varied collection of artists, each responding to the natural world in their own way.

There will be flowers and still lifes, but also landscapes, organic forms, wild growth, patterns, textures and more abstract interpretations.

A collection exploring the many ways nature can inspire, connect and take shape through art. 🌿

Artist Spotlight | Clare Menck 🌊

Clare Menck is a well-established South African artist, internationally recognised for her paintings and prints of swimmers, figures and self-portraits.

Water has been a recurring presence in her work throughout her career. For Clare, it is much more than a beautiful setting — it becomes a place of freedom, stillness and connection with the natural world.

Much of her subject matter is drawn from her own life, including herself, her children and people close to her. These personal moments become intimate paintings that also leave space for the viewer to bring their own memories and experiences to the work.

Her work has been exhibited extensively in South Africa and internationally, including an international exhibition in Bremen, Germany, where five of her works were selected.
