Cape Cache Ocean studio and material practice based in Pearly Beach | Suiderstrand at the southern point of Africa. Screw holes are 1 inch / 25,4mm apart. Mr Fish

Exploring cast spatial systems, ceramic, GFRC matrices, and structural typologies. Made out of polyurethane rubber with a closed cell EVA foam insert for comfort. Kitehooks 6.0 have a stainless attachment plate for multiple attachment options. Foot hooks provide vertical traction for kite surfers and foil boarders. Losing a board in waves of consequence suck. Leashes can be dangerous while straps can be restrictive and cause injuries for beginners easing into wave riding or accomplished riders achieving progression. I am always looking for ways to improve my strapless riding, which is why I design my own foot hooks. My aim is to create traction that is helpful in choppy conditions and to get me over some unexpected dumpers. This is an ever-evolving design to find the balance between comfort flexibility and usability. Overall I am looking for the freedom to jump higher or land more technical tricks.

Anatomy of Velocity
A 2.7 m Yellowfin tuna skeleton, sculpted vertebra by vertebra in water-based mineral resin, suspended in the Cape Cache gallery at Pearly Beach.
Two unique editions were created — Bone (shaded vertebra by vertebra) and Black (the silhouette made solid). Both are now placed in private collections. In open light, the suspended form casts a second, moving artwork: a shadow that tracks the sun across the floor. https://capecache.co.za/the-collection/anatomy-of-velocity/

Ghost Tales is one year of the tide line at the southern tip of Africa, bound into the departing tail of a whale.

Between Pearly Beach and Walker Bay, the sea returns what it takes — manila rope gold from a summer on the sand, sisal grey from a winter storm, polypropylene blue from a longline that worked before it broke free. Gathered over twelve months, washed, sun-dried, and bound by hand over a resin armature, these elements converge into a single form.

Every length of rope was working before it washed ashore. Ghost gear unknotted, cleaned, and reformed into a permanent structure of grace.
