Tobias Art Art Gallery hosting Art by Tobias and quirky printed items by Harry. Art Gallery co-owned by Tobias and his life partner, Harry. And then there is Harry.
(1)

Tobias's art has been exhibited all over South Africa and as far as the Netherlands (Schuivinge, Den Haag, & Amsterdam) and Belguim. His paintings are in private collections, spanning the world. In cities like, New York, Houston (Texas), Amsterdam (Compuware), London, and in countries like, Australia, Switzerland and of course in many homes in South Africa. Tobias also sources exclusive Home Decor elements that are sold amongst his own artwork. The rich colors of the South African landscapes combined with the rural elements, are the inspiration for his creativity in oils on canvas. His realistic approach and use of warm, vibrant colors contribute to his style which he describes as "easy" - because it flows without a struggle. He often goes to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have his senses put in order. Tobias' landscape compositions evolve from original self-photographed pictures. His fulfillment becomes reality when the flow of energy in his art is experienced by the viewer. His printing is bound to illicit a smile, even if it makes you feel guilty. He loves playing with words and finds humor in even the mundane things. Here you'll find anything from T Shirts to printed matchboxes. Leave your prejudices at home and kick back and relax, and be ready to be entertained. You are very likely to meet Harry over weekends, when he works in the gallery. Go and say hello.

Wide Open · 24×24cm
Small frame. No trees to hide behind. No mountains to anchor to. Just sky and earth and the line between them. Some paintings ask you to look. This one just opens.

The storm is still deciding. The valley isn’t waiting. There’s a particular kind of light that only arrives just before everything changes — this is that light.

I did it again, I Skedêpi’d a T-shirt. If it makes you snort-laugh or gets you thrown out of a family gathering, it’ll probably end up on a shirt.
Skedêpi. Worn by people with excellent taste and absolutely no filter.
We ship. We don’t judge. Mostly.

Three paintings. Same stretch of sky. Each one is a different kind of silence. This one is the quietest.

Gratitude · Not a word I use easily, but some mornings out here — the light, the silence, the sheer unlikeliness of it all — there’s no other word.

Karoo Farm · 150×100cm The Karoo doesn’t ask permission. It just sits there — wide, dry, completely sure of itself. I painted this because I needed to remember what that kind of certainty feels like. You’ll know it the moment you stand in front of it. Buy the original → tobiasart.com/gallery
