Bang works with themes related to deforestation in Norway during and after the Industrial Revolution. In her artistic practice, she creates graphic imprints of everyday human objects. "Jøtul koieovn nr. 381" originates from Bang’s visit to a logging cabin from 1944 at Belbekken in Julussa, where she made an imprint of the top plate of a stove of the type Jøtul Cabin Stove No. 381. The stove plate was rolled with printing ink and printed by hand onto paper. The cabin stove is both an archetypal and at the same time political object that reflects human vulnerability and the need for community, warmth, and food.
