Repaint Athena A Community art project in Metaxourgio/Athens I found out many people are against this event. You can style the sculpture as you like. How it works:

1.

The idea behind this community art project is: I came to Athens for the ReMap4 exhibition and to be honest I had no big idea about what´s going on in the area the exhibition takes place. One reason is the fear of gentrification and how the residents are/were treated, others have the feeling of exclusion. Now i want to break up the so called "elite art sphere" and open it to everybody who ist interested to participate. Feel free to restyle my sculpture "Chrysalis Athena" which is mounted on the facade of Giatrakou 10 in Metaxourgio/Athens. I also want to start a discourse what´s going on in the Metaxourgio/Keramikos area regarding the gentrification/ReMap thing, so the participants are invited to send me personal thoghts, experiences, ect on this topic (but it´s not a must). Just what comes to your mind or regarding the ideas you wish to communicate. Just send me your documentation and your thoughts and i will publish your contribution at http://www.repaintathena.org and https://www.facebook.com/repaintathena.org
The sculpture is exhibited in Athens until the 30th of September 2013. Take off Athene and repaint her according to your own intentions.

2. Put Athene back into her original position, take photos of her and send the pictures together with some more information about you that you want to convey to [email protected]. It would be nice if you would like to add a statement concerning the ‘ReMap4’ project and the situation in Keramikos/Metaxourgio – of course, also critical views are highly appreciated!. Afterwards the sent material will be published on the website www.repaintathena.org.

3. Find another person who repaints the sculpture within 1 to 2 days.
