Dixon Studio Tour Stop 8: This is artist Heather Eckart's first year on the Dixon Studio Tour. Heather sources her own raw turquoise, then cuts and polishes it before setting the stones in exquisite and unique metalwork. She’ll also be offering her whimsical bunting and crocheted rugs made from upcycled linens. It’s all waiting for you at studio Stop 8!

Stop #18: Ai Smith has been making baskets and fiber vessels since the early 1970s, and first showed on the Dixon Studio Tour back in 1990. We are so happy she’s on the Tour this year! Today, her studio offers baskets, hand-woven apparel, rugs, and tapestries — don’t miss it!

Here are just a few examples of the amazing art of Candace Chaite. You’ll find these works and more at Dixon Studio Tour Stop #17. Candace Chaite moved to Dixon from New York City over thirty years ago. She’s spent the decades since exploring the abstract nature of reality through color, dots, and what she calls 'mental wanderings.' When you visit her studio, be sure to ask her about Tai Chi. She’s an artist AND Dixon’s favorite local Tai Chi instructor!
