Meet The Officers at Shrewsbury Prison,

This is Malcolm, one of our experienced tour guides.

His favourite place is the hanging room, a space filled with powerful history.

His favourite fact reflects just how precise the process once was. On the day of ex*****on, prisoners would enter the room at 8am, and from that moment, the entire process took just 12 seconds.

It’s a detail that’s difficult to comprehend, but one that highlights the stark realities of the past.

Meet The Officers at Shrewsbury Prison,

This is Michelle from our Paranormal & Events Team.

Her favourite place is A Wing, the largest wing in the prison, with 172 cells and, according to many, one of the most active areas for unexplained activity.

Doors closing, lights flickering, and shadowy figures have all been reported here over the years.

Her favourite fact is a reminder of how recent some conditions were. It wasn’t until 1995 that proper plumbing was introduced, before then, prisoners relied on shared buckets within their cells.

It’s a mix of history and mystery that continues to fascinate those who walk these corridors.

Prison Escape Session 1/2 is complete… and what a curious bunch they were! 👀🔐

Thrown into the world of Shrewsbury Prison, our inmates quickly learned that trust is currency and every decision matters. From striking questionable alliances and uncovering hidden clues to solving challenges and plotting their escape, they left no stone unturned in their bid for freedom.

With prison officers patrolling the wings, secrets hidden throughout the prison, and plenty of opportunities for betrayal, the pressure was on from the moment they arrived. Some inmates worked together, others had their own plans… and a few questions raised more than a little suspicion! 😏

Cell Through The Ages! Every Cell Holds A Story.

This time, we step inside a 2013 Cell, a space that shows how the prison looked in its final years before closure.

With a kettle, TV, and radio, these cells reflect a more modern way of living behind bars. Yet despite these additions, life remained structured, controlled, and confined within the same walls.

Furniture was fixed in place to prevent damage, and prisoners wore issued clothing, maintaining a sense of routine and uniformity in daily life.

It’s a space that feels familiar, almost recognisable, yet still shaped by restriction.

Not history from centuries ago, but from a time many still remember. A reminder that these stories are closer to us than we might think.
