As a part of VFCD’s Track 03 - Living laboratories, 22+1 is a multimedia exhibition that explores creativity as a living and evolving practice through the architecture, design and urban stories of Ho Chi Minh City and southern Vietnam. Featuring photography, documentary films and architectural models, the exhibition presents the work and philosophies of 22 local and international architects and designers whose practices continue to shape the region’s changing cultural and urban landscape.
Aligned with the theme “Livina Festival” of an ongoing dialogue between people, communities, culture and place.
Visitors are invited to discover the creative processes, collaborations and lived experiences that inform each project, revealing how design evolves through continuous exchange with its social and environmental context.

Gallery Medium is presenting selected works from ‘Perpetual Flows’ by Phan Linh Linkart at Arte Fare. The exhibition opens today at CHILLALA - House of Art, and is on view until 16 September.

We’re delighted to join Arte Fare, organized by CHILLALA - House of Art and curated by artist/ curator Trong Gia Nguyen, where we will be presenting the works of Phan Linh once again, following her previous exhibition at Gallery Medium.

With a background in graphic design and years of working closely with traditional Vietnamese craft and artisans, Phan Linh brings together bold color, graphic language and meticulous craftsmanship. Moving between painting, craft and installation, her practice creates a playful dialogue between the traditional and contemporary, the familiar and the new.

ARTIST

Jhankar Khandelwal is an artist/designer whose work draws deeply from India’s rich cultural heritage and shaped by a contemporary vision of living. Exploring the intersection of space and object, Jhankar creates interiors and furniture that honour tradition while expressing a fresh and thoughtful design language. Motivated by a desire to go beyond mere functionality, the designer approaches each project as a curated experience, one that evokes emotion, sparks creativity, and nurtures a profound sense of place. Whether orchestrating the flow of an interior or perfecting the form of a handcrafted furniture piece, every detail is thoughtfully refined to harmonise beauty with purpose. Guided by principles of craftsmanship, sustainability, and timelessness, Jhankar’s work fuses traditional artisanal techniques with fine materials and balanced proportions. The result is furniture and interiors that are at once sculptural and soulful.

Her artwork Sanyog was exhibited at the India Art Fair, Delhi 2025 and Maison & Objet Hong
Kong 2025.

DESIGN

Ahimāya tray, by Indian artist Jhankar Khandelwalis, a modular tray system designed for versatility in everyday living. Part of the Sanyog collection, it combines hand-beaten brass rooted in Jaipur’s Thathera craft, with acacia wood, creating a piece that is both functional and tactile. The brass surface carries visible hammer marks, celebrating the hand of the artisan and giving each piece a unique texture and depth. Composed of rearrangeable elements,
Ahimāya adapts to multiple uses, from serving tray to desk organizer, shifting naturally with
the rhythms of daily life.

Episode 4 of the Art & Design Dialogue series, presented as part of 3 Weeks of Design by Gallery Medium, looks at independent practice and the process of developing an authentic creative voice.

Titled Practicing Independently, Creating Authentically, the episode brings together participants of 3 Weeks of Design 2026 to reflect on their creative journeys, individual approaches, and the challenges of finding a perspective of their own.

The conversation explores what it means to practice independently, move beyond established conventions, and create work that feels personal and distinct.
