It's Football Season for ZM Schools! This is the 1948 Zumbrota Football team. They were undefeated in the Hiawatha Conference which was the first since 1910.. Team Captains were Duane Hoven and Fred Lepper. Coach Lee Ball and the team travelled by private cars with the football pants tied to the fenders of the cars. This was an improvement over using the teams of horse and buggy method of travel to Kenyon! Can you name any of the other team members?

Happy Mother's Day and Happy Birthday to the State of Minnesota! She is 156 today! Think back on all the Founding mothers- The indigenous women, the pioneers, the businesswomen, the women who shaped our state and our town of Zumbrota. I'm thinking of people like Sue Rockne and Rose Perra and Amy Klobuchar who tirelessly worked in the political arena, Roxanne Bartsh and her work with the Pioneer Trail, women like Virginia Mae Hope who kept the state going during WWII, Harriet Bishop the first teacher and the many special educators like Iram Brooks and Doris French and Linda Pahl and Pam Langley, Louise Erdrich, Wanda Gag and Catherine friend who wrote wonderful books, The Andrews Sisters, Judy Garland, Jane Nigon, and many other women who share their musical talents, To the women who have helped to make the agriculture industry vital and vibrant, and the many mothers who nurture families, work hard at home and in the community to make our state and our town the wonderful place it is today!

An 1890s portrait of two Norwegian-American women in Zumbrota, Minnesota, in Norwegian dress displaying family heirlooms from Norway. Anna Dyreson Homme on the left was a second-generation immigrant who appears to have created a costume by adding ribbon to her bodice and wearing a blouse with the then fashionable leg-of-mutton sleeves. Her un-identified companion is a quite authentic Hardanger or national dress but without the beaded belt. Rolland Falk, Covered Bridge Restaurant & Lounge, Zumbrota, MN.

Hi looking for an obituary or any information on Kjersten Rostad for my family tree, thanks
My Great Great Grandfather Eben Upton Bancroft started raised a family there. Any descendants in town yet? He was at the old Delong Lumber Co.
Looking forward to seeing this site up and running again:)
