Maplelawn Farmstead

Maplelawn Farmstead Our mission is to create experiences that connect people to the rich, rural heritage of the 1930s Great Depression era on an Indiana family farm.

Maplelawn Farmstead has a well documented history that dates back to the early 1800’s. The original farmstead was established by John and Jane Wolf in 1835. In 1900, the Wolf heirs sold the farm to Alfred Elroy and Elmira Moore Scott. The farmstead remained in the Scott family until the death of Lester Bradley—the surviving spouse of a Scott heir, Alyce Scott Bradley—in 2000. In 2003, the land on

Maplelawn Farmstead is looking for a photographer to assist us during the upcoming Winterfest at Mulberry Farms. On Friday, December 10th and Friday December 17th, from 6:30-8:30pm, Santa will be at Maplelawn for a “photo with Santa” event.
We will have our 1947 Dodge truck decorated and staged for the photos (or an equally picturesque setting under a roof, if weather dictates). We need a photographer to make appointments, take the pictures, and print or digitally send the pictures to the families. The photographer’s time/service will be paid for by the families, with Maplelawn receiving a small percentage of the fee, to recoup expenses (open to negotiation).
If you are interested please reply in comments, or message us ASAP. Or tag someone in the comments that might be interested. Thank you for your consideration! ❄️🎅🏼🎄❄️

We are sorry to announce the CANCELLATION of our September 18th Honey Harvesting workshop—due to a lack of honey! 😮 There’s not enough honey for us and the bees, so we need to leave it for the bees so they can make it through the winter!

If you signed up for the workshop, your payment has been refunded (check your PayPal account).

Thank you for your interest in bees, honey, and Maplelawn. Here’s hoping for a better harvest in 2022! 🐝🌻

FOR IMEDIATE RELEASE: SWEEPER VAN ADDED TO INCREASE SAFETY AT THE Harvest 50 GRAVEL RACE Meet Bill Confer. Bill is a long time Team Nebo Ridge teammate who happens to have a really cool van. Not just any van, this van is a Ford Transit Passenger van which he graciously donated to help increase safety during the Harvest 50. If you happen to have a mechanical, Bill will have tools, tubes, air, and water, all donated by Westfield Cyclesports. He will have whatever is needed to keep you on the gravel. If the gravel gets the best of you, he’d be happy to offer you a ride back to Maplelawn Farmstead to get an early start on lunch and a frosty beer from Grand Junction Brewing Co. Be sure to thank Bill for donating his time, and his really cool Van. Thanks Bill

We have a historic old barn on our property. I'm thinking about joining the Indiana Barn Foundation because our barn needs a new roof and I'd like to apply for a grant. I wonder if anyone can tell me how to go about getting the barn registered with the state as a historic property? It's older than 50 years old.
In April the Zionsville Community Enrichment Grant Committee awarded seven local non-profits first-round grants. Maplelawn Farmstead has used its $2,000 grant to extend irrigation and install additional hose connections to facilitate garden maintenance and expansion plans. This will greatly impact their ability to keep the garden, pollinator garden, berries and flowers healthy all summer. Maplelawn has said - after years of hauling, winding and unwinding 400 feet of hoses these new water lines are so appreciated!
Join the Zionsville Parks and Recreation for Barns and Brews on Thursday, June 24 - a 21+ fundraising event for Maplelawn Farmstead. We'll be featuring Traders Brewing Company. After your evening presentation, there will be time to mingle with friends around the fire, enjoy a few beverages, play yard games and tour the historic barns and home. What you need to know: • Bring your own lawn chair or blanket • We're picking up the tab on your first drink • Gates open at 6:30 p.m., speakers start at 7 p.m. • Tickets are $14.50/person and must be purchased in advance at www.zionsville-in.gov/598/Special-Events • Must be 21+ to attend • Tickets: $14.50 per person • All proceeds support Maplelawn Farmstead • Parking at Mulberry Fields Park, 9065 Whitestown Road
