Visit us this weekend.
Dive into early Yuma history with a walking tour of Castle Dome City. Some of the earliest southwest Arizona pioneers came here to search for gold and silver - and they found it. In the decades between 1860 and 1900, there were 4000 residents living and mining here. During the same time period there were less than 1000 residents in Yuma.
While you’re here, tour the Hull mine. By far the largest and most successful, of the hundreds of mines in the Castle Dome mining district. On a hot day, our mine tour is not only beautiful, entertaining and informative, but also a welcome relief from the heat. The Hull mine has natural climate control, it is always 70 degrees.
The city museum is open from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Mine tours are scheduled at 11:00, 1:00 and 3:00 daily.

Thank you for giving our bronze plaque a shine today.
Reading this again this morning, I am reminded that Castle Dome City, painstakingly recreated from historical archives by Alan & Stephanie Armstrong is unlike any other mining town in the West. The City brings to light the lives of those ambitious and daring pioneers who came here to find their fortune.
Visit us and see a slice of days gone by. We are here 10:00 - 5:00 every day except Christmas.
While youre here, you can tour the Hull Mine, a natural wonder unlike any other in the world!

It’s a perfect week to visit Castle Dome!
Plenty of sunshine and perfect temperatures to explore the “city,” and enjoy the natural climate control in the mine. It’s 70 degrees in there 365 days a year.

We had a great time at Castle Dome mine Museum. It was wayyyyy more comprehensive than we expected. We spent over 2 hours in the Castle Dome City Museum nd then went to the mine. We were amazed not only at the insight to mining here in the 1800s, but also the spectacular fluorescent minerals. The photos don't do it justice! If you are in the area, don't miss it.
We are going back with our friend next month.
