We'll be posting our "Quakers and Slavery: From Enslavers to Allies" program several times before it takes place on Thursday, September 10, 7:30 p.m. at the Old Library by Lake Afton.

We apologize for the repetition but Meta decided not allow the event to be advertised because it is "political" and/or "election-related." ?? Oh well, saves us money.

As this photo taken in the mid-1970's shows, the building was jam-packed containing more than 22,000 volumes.

A parading fire truck with dalmation passes through the Main Street and Afton Avenue intersection. Looking east on the north side of East Afton Avenue are the Continental Tavern, Cramer's Bakery, and a grocery store, perhaps the Acme circa 1950s.
