Landis Valley Launches America 250 Lecture Series Celebrating Pennsylvania’s Role in the Nation’s Story
Lancaster, PA — As part of the statewide America 250 initiative, Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum will launch its America 250 Lecture Series beginning May 29, 2026.
Rooted in the theme “Pennsylvania’s Story is America’s Story,” this monthly series brings leading historians and scholars to Lancaster County to explore the people, traditions, and events that shaped both the Commonwealth and the nation.
Held on the last Friday of each month (May–October), the series is designed as an engaging “Happy Hour” lecture experience, featuring:
Expert-led presentations
Light refreshments
Audience Q&A and discussion
Featured speakers include:
Patrick Donmoyer (Kutztown University)
Scott Mingus (Underground Railroad historian)
Philip Gruber (Lancaster Farming)
Dr. Scott Sheely
Lynnette Miller
Dr. William Woys Weaver
John Kolar (Annual Meeting Keynote)
The series serves as a cornerstone of Landis Valley’s America 250 programming, leading into a major upcoming exhibition on Lancaster gunsmiths of the early republic, curated in partnership with Landis Valley curator Jen Royer.
