Allan Shivers Library and Museum

It's bittersweet news at the library this week. We are saying goodbye to another member of our team who has meant so much to our staff and community for the last 10 years.

She will be deeply missed, and we wish nothing but the best in the next chapter of her journey.

That means we have a spot to fill — and we'd love for it to be someone who loves books, people, computers, helping, and community as much as we do!
We are hiring a Library Clerk!
If you enjoy helping people, keeping things organized, and being a part of something that truly matters in our community, we welcome your application for the position. The last day to receive applications will be October 28th at 4pm.
Stop by the library for an application, click the link below, or contact us for more details.

🎉 Celebrating 60 Years of the Allan Shivers Museum! 🎉

What a wonderful Saturday celebrating 60 years of history, memories, and community at the Allan Shivers Museum! ❤️

We are so grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate this special milestone with us. From longtime supporters and community members to those discovering the museum for the first time, your presence helped make the day truly memorable.

For six decades, the Allan Shivers Museum has helped preserve and share the history of our community and the legacy of Governor Allan Shivers. We are proud to be part of that story and excited to continue carrying it forward for generations to come.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make our 60th anniversary celebration possible, and to everyone who has supported the museum throughout the years.

Here’s to 60 years of history—and many more to come! 🥳📚🏛️

I was honored to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Allan Shivers Library and Museum in Woodville.

Serving Texas as a state senator, lieutenant governor, and governor, Mr. Shivers’ legacy extended far beyond Woodville and will continue to make an impact for generations to come.
