📰 WE’RE FRONT PAGE NEWS! 📰

The Woodstock Museum is making headlines in the Northern Virginia Daily! 🎉

As work gets underway on the Restore the Porch project at the historic Marshall House, demolition has uncovered hidden pieces of the building’s past—giving us an unexpected glimpse into the history beneath the porch we thought we knew.

That’s one of the things we love most about historic preservation: old buildings have stories to tell, and sometimes they reveal those stories when we least expect it!

We are thrilled that the Northern Virginia Daily is helping share the story of the Marshall House, the discoveries being made during the project, and why preserving this important piece of Woodstock’s history matters so much.

❤️ Preserving the Past for the Future ❤️

The Porch Is Down! 🎉🏛️

Seeing the old porch come down is both exciting and a little bittersweet. This historic porch has been part of the Woodstock landscape for generations, but it had reached the point where it could no longer be saved in its current condition.

The porch may be gone—but the next Phase is on its way.

The Marshall House has been whispering to us about what her original entryway looked like - and we are LISTENING! Stay tuned as we share more updates as this exciting project moves forward.

Phase Two still needs funding. Please give via Zeffy at: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/woodstock-museums-2026-27-membership-and-fundraising-drive

🚧 Exciting News from the Woodstock Museum! 🚧

UPDATE!! Phase One will begin the week of AUGUST 10th! Again, weather permitting.

We are thrilled to announce that Phase One of our Restore the Porch project is scheduled to begin around September 10, weather permitting.

This first phase will involve the careful demolition of the existing porch, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in preserving this historic landmark. This important step will allow us to reconstruct it so it can safely welcome visitors for generations to come.

We are especially pleased to announce that SS Snarr General Contractor of Woodstock, Virginia has been selected to tackle the Restore the Porch project. As a respected local contractor with deep roots in our community, we are delighted to have them partner with us on this significant preservation project.

This milestone would not be possible without the generosity of our donors, members, volunteers, and everyone who has supported the Restore the Porch campaign. Your encouragement and financial support have helped turn years of planning into reality. We still need your help though! Please continue to the keep the Museum in your financial plans for the future - this is just Phase One, and we need to continue fundraising to the conclusion of the project

As construction progresses, we'll be sharing updates and photos so you can follow the transformation every step of the way.

Thank you for helping us preserve the Woodstock Museum and its historic Marshall House for future generations.

The restoration begins soon—and we can't wait to share the journey with you! 🏛️❤️
