Here’s a sneak peak of our new exhibition, All the Fixins: Artists From the South, opening Friday, May 8 at the Reeves House.

Come and celebrate opening night with us from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and vote for your favorite piece! The artist’s work with the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Award and a cash prize, along with the other top three pieces, selected by the jurors.

Selected through a competitive juried process, this exhibition celebrates southern voices and perspectives, giving artists the opportunity to gain recognition and connect with new audiences.

Our head juror is none other than Susan Bridges, owner and director of contemporary art gallery Whitespace Gallery in Atlanta.

You get a vote, you get a vote, everybody gets a vote! When you come and view our annual exhibition All the Fixins, cast a vote for your favorite piece to award that artist a cash prize!

This exhibition opened submissions to artists from all over the south and is juried by Susan Bridges, the owner and director of the well-known contemporary Whitespace Galley in Atlanta. After she has chosen the top three submissions for cash prizes, the final vote for winner is a people’s choice award. Don’t miss your chance to come out, support these southern artists and cast your vote for your favorite piece.

Meet the Visual Arts team!

Carolina curates the exhibitions and creates the programming for the Reeves House, which means she is always thinking up workshops and events that complement and reinforce the ethos of our exhibits. As an artist herself, she is passionate about creating the best possible environment for artists and the patrons of Reeves House alike.

Megan coordinates with all of our teaching artists so that they can make their classes a reality. She has taught pottery with Woodstock Arts for 3 years, giving her a unique insight into the experience of the teachers she works with.

Shawn facilitates the Local Artist Showcase and maintains the relationship between us and the artists. In her words: “I make sure they feel loved and that the Reeves House feels like home.” She also helps with workshops and the artist meetups.

As the studio manager of the Kish Center, Heather oversees the pottery studio, teaches classes regularly, and connects with our pottery students (she also cares for and feeds the stray cats that like to hang out on the back porch).

Emily does, mainly, anything that she’s asked! As an intern, Emily is a massive help to the team, whether it’s through making workshop pamphlets, installing exhibitions, or organizing our spaces to make sure things are running smoothly in Reeves House overall. She also teaches a children’s art class on Mondays.
