Taller Arte del Nuevo Amanecer (TANA) is a collaborative partnership between the Chicana/o Studies Department at the University of California, Davis, and the greater Woodland community. TANA offers a complete silkscreen printing studio, a Chicano/Latino arts exhibition gallery, and a teaching center for the arts. TANA views the arts as an essential element in a community’s development and well-bei

Location: TANA / 1224 Lemen Ave. Woodland, CA
Join artist Abel Rodriguez for a hands-on collaborative collage workshop centered around memory, storytelling, and shared experience. Participants will explore how images, textures, and personal materials can come together to create layered artworks that reflect identity, family, culture, and community.

Participants are encouraged to bring photographs, collage materials, and personal items that hold meaning or connect to family memories and lived experiences.

Examples can include postcards, postage stamps, maps, ticket stubs, receipts, wrapping paper, original prints, polaroids, photocopies, and other personal ephemera.

Participants may also bring 3-4 digital photographs, and TANA staff will be available to print copies on-site during the workshop.

TANA will also provide a wide assortment of materials, including magazines, newspapers, cardstock and specialty paper options, textiles, fibers, and additional ephemera for participants to incorporate into their work.

No prior experience is needed- this workshop is free and open to all ages and skill levels.
