Sculptor Sharon Curran will give a presentation titled “The Horse, My Muse in Many Mediums” on Saturday, October 17, at 2 p.m. at the Leroy Anderson House in Woodbury. As part of the series “Exploring the Creative Process,” Sharon Curran will discuss her career as a sculptor, creating equine-themed art using ceramic, wire, wood, and glass.

"Many artists create artworks of various subjects and specialize in one particular medium. My approach to art has always been one subject, horses. I’ve been in love with horses since childhood. Taking artistic liberties, I try to convey motion and the soul of the horse in my sculptures and paintings instead of a portrait likeness." - Sharon Curran.

Many thanks to the Southbury Library for hosting this Sunday's Deming String Quartet concert sponsored by the Leroy Anderson Foundation. The wet forecast caused us to change the concert venue. Come and enjoy this superb string quartet at the Southbury Library on Sunday, Sept 20, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Free admission.

The Fairfield County Brass Quintet of Westport, Connecticut will present an outdoor concert on Saturday, September 12, at 3 p.m. at the Leroy Anderson House at 33 Grassy Hill Road in Woodbury.
The program includes a variety of classical, ragtime and jazz works by J. Hubert Blake, William Byrd, John Cheetham, Léo Delibes, Robert Nagel, Lew Pollack, James M. Stephenson, Tom Turpin and Leroy Anderson.
The Fairfield County Brass Quintet was formed by musicians of the Westport Community Band in late 2021. Members of the brass quintet are Tom Zoubek, trumpet, Mike Strange, trumpet, Tom Jordan, horn, Will Munro, trombone, and Marcia Chithelen, tuba.
The Leroy Anderson House, a historic house museum on the National Register of Historic Places, is located at 33 Grassy Hill Road. Admission is free. Reservations are required. Bring a folding chair. To reserve a place, send an email to: [email protected]. In the event of rain on Saturday, the concert will take place on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m.
