It doesn't look like much, but a good thing is happening! The historical marker near Homme Pond boat landing is getting a face lift! Homme Youth and Family staff and students will be repainting the sign as a summer project.

OK, you did well on the dates of the cars. Now, who has a photo of the original St. Joseph’s church?

Do you know anyone who attended the rural Gabe Green school which was about six miles west of Galloway? We are looking for the year it opened and the year it closed. Right now we know it operated at least from 1934 through 1952. (plus any other details they might remember)
North of County C just off Pulaski Road.

The historical society is looking for Marathon County plat books. We have the following years: 1901, 1923, 1930, 1945, 1960, 1961, and a bunch from 1978 and beyond.
We especially need the very early years (prior to 1950), but only to take photographs of a few townships in each book. We also are looking for the 1950 Shawano County plat book, again only to take photos.
And…we will be at the Galloway Community Center from 9 to noon on Saturday the 25th to make copies of any Galloway photos you might have. Bring your photos in and we will explain the history of this one as a bonus.

HELLO GALLOWAY RESIDENTS! Do you have historical photos or stories spotlighting your community?
Our honorable Mr. John N. Powers will be at the Galloway Community Center on Sun. April 12 from 9 to 10:30 am collecting information for an upcoming exhibit. He can copy your treasures, so you don't have to donate them.
To make other arrangements or more information, call John at 715-253-2629. Thanks!!
