South Atlantic Contract Packaging has made a $10,000 annual gift to Kaleideum Downtown in support of programming and outreach during the month of September, which kicks off National Hispanic Heritage Month in the middle of the month.
Hispanic Heritage Month is observed annually from September 15 to October 15. Hora del Cuento/Spanish Storytime will occur at 2 pm on three Fridays during the month: September 2, September 16, and September 30. In addition, Kaleideum will celebrate the colorful cultures, rich histories, and diversity of the American Hispanic and Latinx community through some of its regular Curiosity Cart programming throughout the month.
Learn more about programming at kaleideum.org.
County Commissioners participated in the Topping Off event for the new Kaleideum being built downtown, which will combine Kaleideum Downtown's children's museum and Kaleideum North's science center. The final two beams of the new museum's steel structure were available to sign at both locations and during the event, where attendees witnessed the beams being placed in the new building.
Thanks to Stitch Design Shop for posting this incredible drone footage of the Kaleideum Downtown jobsite!
Join us this Thursday at 10am, along with Stitch Design Shop, Gensler and Forsyth County North Carolina Government for the Topping Out Ceremony at the future location of Kaleideum Downtown on West Third Street!! For those not familiar with a topping out, it is is a builders' rite traditionally held when the last beam is placed on top of a structure during its construction. The beam that we will raise has been signed by Kaleideum employees, those involved with the planning and construction, as well as community members. The downtown location of the Kaleideum is going to be an amazing addition to the city of Winston-Salem! We hope to see you there!!

It’s a beautiful Saturday, so let’s throwback to one of HOPE of Winston-Salem FAVORITE ‘Fun’raiser of 2019 ‘Be a Kid, Feed A Kid’ Kaleideum Downtown. An event where the adults got to act like kids, climbing, building blocks, enjoying some of the best food Winston-Salem has to offer, and adult beverages so they can dance like everyone’s watching!
May we add that ALL music, restaurants, farmer friends, prizes, were all donated to help raise funds to feed food insecure children right here in Winston-Salem. Rockin’ with The Hollirockets, grabbing all of the pimento deviled eggs from Niki's Pickles Niki Farrington of Willow's Bistro Winston-Salem fame, dancin’ to EightyFour Lee Budkey (now Korben Design Company) and MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE! Raised over $16,000 to keep HOPE driving to food deserts and feed nutritious meals to children and produce to families EVERY WEEKEND!
Want to be part of HOPE fun with THE event of Oct 3? Sponsor and register for the 5th Annual HOPE Classic! Golf, Delish food fuel, prizes (new car anyone)? $5000 anyone? Gorgeous greens, fun people- golfing for good!
Have a day full of kindness and coolness!
