What do YOU see?
Why not take a stroll downtown and see what you can find?
What are you looking at? 👁 👄 👁
Can you guess where this portrait is hanging in Winona?
Here is a screenshot of Wing Young Huie's Chalk Talk Workshop earlier this semester!
Some of the questions asked in the workshop are:
What are you?
How do you think others see you? What don’t they see?
What advice would you give to a stranger?
What is your favorite word?
Describe an incident that changed you.
How have you been affected by race?
What would you answers be?
Hopefully you were able to join Wing Young Huie's virtual artist talk! Wing covered the philosophy of his works, his approaches to taking photographs, and the fight for social justice in his front yard. His work is still available to view through our website: https://educate.winona.edu/watkinsgallery/wing-young-huie/
Reminder of our artist talk by Wing Young Huie from 5-6pm this afternoon!

"The best compliment I ever got was from a 6th grader... He said, 'I really like your pictures'. I said, 'Great. What'd you like about them?' He said, 'They're real." - Wing Young Huie
