As most of you have probably heard, our neighbors at MLily experienced a devastating fire.

We are so grateful for the many people that have been involved with battling the fire, and those behind the scenes supporting everyone involved.

There are so many first responders of all types that have been working tirelessly - our local folks and many that came from all around the state when the call came for help.

Our thoughts are also with all the employees and their families as they navigate the future.

While this is a tough time for all of Fairfield County - this county and its people are strong.

And so many people are coming together in support.

As Mister Rogers famously said - “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping."

Thank you to all those that are helping MLily.

Please keep everyone involved in your thoughts in the days ahead, and let’s all support them in any way that we can. ❤️

Healthcare SC Fire Update:

First Responder crews will remain on site until every hot spot is extinguished and continue to monitor the situation over the coming days and weeks. The main fire has been controlled and crews are working to get to the areas of the hot spots to extinguish them.

Air Quality: The EPA has been monitoring the air quality since 2:30 pm Monday. There is no danger to anyone in close proximity to the facility. There will be lingering smoke coming from the facility. The smoke is no more dangerous than any outdoor fire. Like with any smoke, try to avoid, if possible. The EPA will continue to monitor the situation on site and the surrounding impacted area.

Runoff: DES has been responding to runoff issues from the surrounding area. They are running tests to gauge the impact of the runoff in the water table and creeks. They have been in contact with property owners and will give status updates when available. At this time there is no harmful impact to well water or utility water in the areas affected. More information will be provided when available.

Debris: If a piece of debris has fallen in your area, it is not harmful. We ask that you use gloves and dispose of it like any other trash. If you don't have gloves, it is safe to handle by hand; just wash your hands after.

If you have concerns and have not been able to speak to someone about the concern, please contact the PIO office and your concern will be addressed as soon as possible: [email protected]

Rusty, The Official Rail Dog of The South Carolina Railroad Museum, was left behind quite some time ago by his family, and we’ve adopted him……and now he’s in charge of all the lost and found items here. 😉🐾

Yesterday, someone left these glasses behind. We believe they are “readers”, as they fold.

If they’re yours, Rusty is keeping them safe here in the office.

Give us a call, comment on this post, or stop by if they’re yours.
