Wimberley Valley Art League We promote, inspire, and support the visual arts in the Wimberley Valley. Please verify times with the Community Center.

The Wimberley Valley Art League meetings are held in the Wimberley Community Center on the second Monday of every month. Board meetings are held on the first Monday of the month in the meeting room at the Wimberley Visitors Center. The Art League Gallery

The Wimberley Valley Art League Gallery is located in the Wimberley Community Center, RR 12 at River Road, and is open from 8:30 to 4:30* during

the week.
*Hours may change during this pandemic. The WVAL Gallery serves as a continuing venue for visitors to view and purchase the works of league members and features a bimonthly juried show to showcase selections from emerging and established WVAL member artists. The objectives of the nonprofit organization are to promote an interest in and recognition of visual and functional art, encourage support and appreciation of art, promote learning for its members, and assist in the development of community-wide interest in art. The latter is manifested through bi-monthly juried shows in the new Gallery at the Wimberley Community Center, art workshops, Arts Fest in the spring, art in public places, a Studio Tour in September, and the Show and Sale each November. Wimberley is home to many well-known national and international artists. Art is an enrichment to your life and surroundings. Come join us as we build public interest in the arts.

WVAL members only jury selection takes place on Tuesday, Sept. 1st. Bring you art work to the Community Center between 8 am and 11 am to enter up to 4 pieces for the jurying process. Our juror will be Blanco artist, writer, art consultant, member of the Austin Artist Hall of Fame and co-founder of Flatbed Press in Austin, Mark Smith PhD. Make plans to participate now!

Thank you to all the artists who submitted artwork for this show. A BIG thank you to our juror, Jo Peterson, a talented abstract artist from Johnson City for her time and attention in selecting pieces for the show. Congratulations, again to all the artists juried into the wonderful exhibition and to those artists who received special recognition for their outstanding work. You are invited to stroll through our gallery in the Wimberley Community Center and view the entire show through August 31.

This was another great show and there was a great turnout. If you were not able to attend stop by the Wimberley Community Center and be inspired by the stunning artwork and by some of our extremely talented local artists. Also, our opening receptions are open to the public, which means you don’t have to be member to attend. They are always fun and rewarding (and I’m not just talking about the complementary wine). Our next opening is Friday, September 10. Grab a friend and make plans to attend. We’d love to see you there.

Mark your calendars for Friday, July 10, 5 - 7 pm at the Wimberley Community Center for our new show reception. It’s a fabulous collection of artwork created by some extremely talented artists. It is always fun to mix and mingle with happy artists. Complementary wine is served and you don’t have to be WVAL member to attend.So, bring a friend and enjoy the artwork and the friendly company.

This is a spectacular show! Loads of great artwork in a variety of mediums by some extremely talented WVAL members. There was a large friendly turn out for the opening. If you were not able to attend we invite you to spend some time in our gallery in the Wimberley Community Center. You wont be disappointed!
